It is really an unforgetful trip in the USA conducted by the Global IELTS. This trip was from Shanghai to the USA, including about 5 cities in USA, lasting for 14 days. During this quite short period, I have learnt and gained a lot---- having practiced my spoken English, made a few friends, what’s the foremost is that I got a deep understanding in the culture and social community of the USA. In the following paragraph, I will describe this exciting journey briefly but imprecisely.
On the 20th of January, we--- 10 group members within our leader (teacher), took the airplane from Shanghai to San Francisco, the flight maintained for 10 hours, really tired, I had not been seated on a plane for so long. After the long time flight, we visited the Stanford University and Berkeley University; they are not only beautiful but also sacred. The next day, we took a bus to visit some famous sightseeing in this city, we had a great time.
In the few days after, we flew to LA and stayed in the American family as well as studied with the local students (high school). Every day, our ‘parents’ would drive us to the school located quite far away, not in LA but a small town nearby. We had the same lessons with the students there. To tell the truth, I think the knowledge being taught there is much easier than that in China, being thankful to this factor, I had no troubles balking me from understanding despite the poor ability in English. From all the lessons I have taken, I appreciate the GLEE most, they sang so well that I can not find a word to extol them.
In fact, we stayed in that family for 6 days; we had an exited and happy time. Our parents are very kind and helpful. On the first day when we arrived, they warmly welcomed us and introduced themselves cordially. What impressed me the most is that when we needed an extension plug, however, we did not know the specific word for it, despite it, our mother listened to us patiently and in the end, she understood what we need. Every morning, they will prepare us bountiful food, though it varied a lot comparing to China, we can feel the care from them.
When we left, the atmosphere was filled with sadness, we did not want to leave, but we had to.
We went to the Universal Studio and played some exiting games.
1 day later, we went to New York and Manhattan and visited the fifth street, Wall Street and some other well-known areas. We also went shopping, I bought an IPHONE 4S and an earphone--- MONSTER STUDIO on the fifth street. Comparing to SHANGHAI, I think these two cities are as modern as Shanghai. Where we lived during the time visiting New York is situated in Clifton which is near Manhattan.
Our last destination is Washington DC, where the WHITE HOUSE is located in, the capital of the USA. Although we only spent a day there, I really like that city, tidy and beautiful.
It is really difficult to say good bye, but time is impersonal, on the morning of the 2nd of February, we took the airplane to Chicago to change the plane to Shanghai. It took us 14 hours flying to Shanghai. It is really torture sitting on the plane for I did not want to leave you, Vivian, Rachel, Tim, Akimi, Jacky, Sylvia, 小鬼,Tony. I will miss you.
Let memory keep frozen.
